ABC 12 Spirit Squad

During the 2018-2019 school year, ABC12’s Mallory Pearson will be making the rounds to local schools encouraging both school spirit and the spirit of giving!

Participating students collect non-perishable canned/boxed food, personal care items, and monetary donations throughout the school year. Together as a community, we can teach our children the value of hard work, the vital skills of organizing and community outreach, and the fulfillment we feel when we give back. This is all a friendly competition between Eastern Michigan schools, and those who collect the most donations will win the Spirit Cup! Please see the details to find out more.

Canstruction

Entry Deadline: February 6, 2019
Build Days: March 9-10, 2019

Canstruction is a unique design & build charity art exhibition! Teams of students build structures entirely from canned foods.

The competition is a fun and exciting way for young people to engage in team-building while practicing leadership, creativity, mathematics, and design … all while working for a good cause: Feeding those in need in Food Bank of Eastern Michigan’s 22 county service area.

This competition will take place at Genesee Valley Center in March.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Your gift will aid in the efforts to relieve childhood hunger. Your donations in support of the program is the single best way to help the cause. You can also get involved with your local community schools and help bring the program to your local district. You may volunteer your services to help stuff backpacks during the school day.
