Becoming A Partner Agency
The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan distributes food to needy individuals through
a network of human service agencies across 22 counties of eastern Michigan. Only
agencies located in the Food Bank's service area can be members of the Food Bank
of Eastern Michigan (counties in the Food Bank's service area).
Partner agencies include church pantries, homeless shelters, the Red Cross,
Salvation Army, and more... The primary criteria that an organization must meet
to become a Food Bank member is having 501 (c) (3) or equivalent status from the
IRS. Most churches qualify for Food Bank membership under this section of the
IRS Code.
If you have questions on the 501 (c) (3) requirement or any aspect of membership
in the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan....please contact Sarah Hierman, Agency

Please print them on clean white paper, write or type in all information, and
mail hard copies to;

A completed must application include the following:
1) Compete Application With Signed Product Receipt and Inspection Form.
2) A Copy of Your Organization's 501(c)3 Determination Letter From the IRS.
3) A Signed Copy of the Last Page of the Food Bank's Policies and Procedures
Handbook.
After receiving your compete application, someone from the Food Bank will be in
contact with you to review your application and schedule a visit to inspect your
food storage facilities. Following the site inspection and application review, a
determination is made regarding acceptance into the Food Bank's network of
agencies.
