Mass Feeding Program
Imagine a program that provides food to more than 100 families in less than 2
hours. Amazing? Yes. Farfetched? No. The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan’s Mass
Feeding Program does just that.
Once a week, the Salvation Army-Beecher Corps
(Flint), First Ward Community Center (Saginaw), Genesee County Community Action
Resource Department (Flint), and Inner City Christian Outreach Center (Flint)
each receive approximately 20,000 pounds of food for distribution.
Volunteers
sort the food into boxes or bags and distribute the food directly to those in
need- a process that takes just a few hours. This is a great program that has
had a tremendous impact on the communities in which it serves.
